The United Way of Coastal Bend, Texas used Get Connected’s Advanced Events Module to run their Annual Feast of Sharing in their local community. In the words of Carla Gardner, UW of the Coastal Bend’s Marketing and Communications Director, here is a quick synopsis of how and why it was a success:

“In order to facilitate the management of H-E-B’s Annual Feast of Sharing event in Corpus Christi (2012), we needed to find a volunteer registration platform that would allow us to maneuver quickly, easily and affordably. It also needed to provide us the ability to capture registrations for and coordinate with approximately 800+ volunteers within a 4-5 week registration period. Galaxy Digital’s Get Connected system offered all that and more. We were able to post over 40 different volunteer opportunities that covered multiple 2-3 hour shifts. It allowed us to provide detailed instructions including special requirements for volunteers such as whether or not a food handlers permit would be required as well as where and how to obtain one. The system’s ability to post how many opportunities remained open and which ones had been filled enabled us to point volunteers to areas of remaining need.

Working with the Galaxy Digital’s team was effortless and seamless. Their experience creating registration process for large and complex events offered us the opportunity to jump right in and get the Feast of Sharing Get Connected system up and running in no time. And to top it off, the entire process of registering groups and individuals, communicating reminders and preparing on-site check-in materials was easily managed by one administrator. Me!”
