Did you know that Galaxy collaborated with a group of local United Way offices (and their agencies) in order to create Get Connected? It’s true. In our experience, working with our customers to understand their real-world needs enables us to build products that are both relevant and useful. It is our goal to continue to improve Get Connected by listening and seeking your advice on an ongoing basis.
One example of this comes in the form of our first major Get Connected upgrade, which is to be released later this month. We call it the Advanced Events Module which was designed to facilitate the management and coordination of both large-scale AND smaller, more targeted volunteer-based events. Also, just like Get Connected, it was developed carefully over many months with a great deal of input and hands-on testing from many of our current Get Connected users and nationally recognized Volunteer Coordinators.
The Advanced Events Module is currently in use by a few select partners but it will not have its official rollout until later this month. In anticipation of that, I wanted to share a quick sneak peek with you and explain how the Advanced Events Module can…
– Reduce the time and resources typically needed to manage and facilitate complex events and,
– Help strengthen your organization’s bonds with local volunteers as well as corporate & community partners

UNITED WAY OF COASTAL BEND, TEXAS
In order to facilitate the management of H-E-B’s Annual Feast of Sharing event in Corpus Christi (2012), we needed to find a volunteer registration platform that would allow us to maneuver quickly, easily and affordably. It also needed to provide us the ability to capture registrations for and coordinate with approximately 800+ volunteers within a 4-5 week registration period.
