How do we get others to include us in the planning process from strategic planning to day-to-day activities?

Learning outcomes:
- Understanding core competencies
- Challenges and opportunities on “selling” our volunteer programs
- Advocating for our profession
- Change management and how we can strategically plan to get at the table
Training 2 of 3
Making Communications Work for You
The ability to communicate effectively is an essential life skill and everyone has their own style that they naturally adapt and develop to suit the different environments they operate in. Our need to educate, inform, persuade, or entertain drives our communications.
Communications is an area that is constantly misused and misunderstood. We communicate in so many ways to so many different audiences.
We all have preferred communication styles, but we need to be able to adapt to our situations and the people that we are working with.
Effective communication forms highly efficient teams where volunteers and staff are able to trust each other.
This workshop will look at the following:
- Key communication styles
- Conflict resolution
- Volunteer burnout and how to avoid it
- High performing teams
- How to have those difficult conversations
Training 3 of 3
